Resources

Here are some of my favorite resources for strengthening my faith and challenging me to think.

We don’t have to agree with everything that someone else says or believes. But if we can open our minds to new ways of looking at old opinions — setting aside emotional reactions, facing the uncomfortable, and searching the scriptures to see if those things are true — we may just walk away with a deeper faith, more confidence in what we believe, and the ability to articulate that belief in a way that brings honor to God.

Evensong, Keith and Kristyn Getty

I adore this gorgeous, unique album and have often played it for my son at night. I also found its songs very comforting during a time of personal loss.

Elisabeth Eliott

With strength beyond measure, deep insight, and a gentle spirit, Elisabeth Elliot has been a bedrock for Christian women seeking to love God with their whole being. I truly have loved every book of hers that I’ve read, and found particular strength and insight in the resources listed below.

Hannah Whitall Smith

Though she worked and wrote in the mid-to-late 1800’s, Hannah Whitall Smith speaks with frank insight that is as relevant today as ever. I appreciate her frankness and humility, dealing with the building of faith in relationships, finances, and every area of life. While I have loved all of her books, The Christian’s Secret of a Happy Life was deeply impactful for me and change my approach to faith in daily life.

Steve Gregg, The Narrow Path

A humble and insightful Bible teacher, Steve has spent nearly his entire life teaching the Word of God with insight that is rare and refreshing. I appreciate his ability to speak the whole truth in love, question commonly accepted Christian ideas that do not align with Scripture, and never being afraid to say “I don’t know” or “I was wrong.” Out side of the Bible itself, the ministry of the Narrow Path has had the largest impact on my spiritual growth. The website is packed with free resources and audio files that can be searched by topic or scripture.

The Narrow Path

Matthew713

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the boundless greatness of His power toward us who believe.”

Ephesians 1:18-19
